We designed the identity for Tactility Studies, a long-term performance project by Chong Gua Khee and Bernice Lee. Using tape, we constructed a custom tactile typeface where alphabets are formed through acts of sticking, stretching, and layering, echoing the body’s capacity to wobble and uncoil. Tape functions as both material and metaphor—sticky on one side and smooth on the other, visible yet unassuming—holding opposing meanings in tension while binding and demarcating ideas. Through this, the identity reflects the project’s exploration of touch, intimacy, and the body as a site of performance.
