Retrospective, an ongoing programme by the Asian Film Archive, presents extensive bodies of work by filmmakers across periods. Its identity features flipped “E”s in the logotype to suggest reflection, and a flexible line with a left-pointing arrow to evoke looking back.

In the inaugural edition featuring Wong Kar-wai, the line forms a “W” and acts as a visual timeline organising the programme, with neon colours referencing the vivid cityscapes of his films.
